Off the Beaten Path.....

I know this is not my usual ........ I am always doing crafts ... projects and stained glass, but today I decided to do it a little different!  Different is good!  I ventured out and off the beaten path today ........ I went out my back door and into Cades Cove.  I love going up there and it is about the time of year when the leaves are getting ready to turn and there is just a nip of cold in the air in the mornings...... ummmm!  It doesn't get any better than this!  So... I am going to take you on my hike around the Cove and Sparks Lane!

We actually walked the trail backwards... but I will start here and jump back!

This was a beautiful shaded area with the light bending through the trees!

Fungus Amoungus!  You never know what kind of cool plantlife or wildlife you will find... this was beautiful growing up the side of this little tree!

Bleeding Heart!  I love all the colors ....

Now we are on Sparks Lane.. It is so pretty with the butterflies fluttering past... A step back in time.............

Off in the field I captured this little one.........

The wildflowers are simple amazing!

We are off of Sparks Lane now and on the main road in the Cove... this is Horseshoe Ridge

One of my favorite trees in the Cove... it is where the horses graze......

We passed by some of the horses... Bailey..Jeanne ... and some other familiar faces...

I had the most wonderful morning!  I think it is our plan to bike and hike at least 2-3 days a week now.... I will continue to share my journeys here in the mountains of my home with you...... I think we are doing Tremont next!

Love,
Anna

  1. Saw you post on another site. What beautiful pictures...particulary the butterfly. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area, when I go out walking in the morning I have to be careful not be be run over by commuters. (-: Take care
